Overview
Air entrainment introduces many small, discrete, sealed bubbles that give freezing water room to expand. It is the key durability component for concrete in cold climates and de-icing salt exposure.

Application notes
Each 1% of entrained air reduces compressive strength by roughly 3–5%, so balance durability against strength. Dosage is very low — meter accurately and mix thoroughly. Air content is affected by aggregate grading, sand ratio and mixing time, so calibrate on site.
